About C&P

Hi, I’m Meg, the person behind Cabbage & Plum. I’ve been practising yoga for over a decade —sometimes consistently, sometimes hardly ever (when life got in the way!) But it has always been there, ready to pick up again where I left off. By day, I teach photography and media. Education and learning is my life's work, or as it is referred to in yoga, my dharma.
Experiencing the positive effects of yoga on both my mind and body, and being inspired by the incredible, empowering women who taught me at Yogabomb, sparked my desire to train as a yoga teacher so I too could share this with others.
In 2024, this became a reality when I completed my 200-hour teacher training under the expert and influential guidance of yet another incredible female, this time at Yoga Hero in Leeds. I practise and teach vinyasa yoga and welcome all abilities right from complete beginners. I pride my teaching style on being inclusive and offering options for all. Yoga is about your practice - for you - not for anyone else.

Life has been full of change—marriage, motherhood, career shifts, challenges, and joys—and through it all, yoga has been a constant. It helped me prepare for birth (I had the studio playlist on!) ease the anxieties of becoming a mother, and continues to guide me and my students, showing how yoga’s values and practice can support navigating life with calm, clarity, and purpose.

Cabbage & Plum grew out of this busyness of life. I longed to attend retreats, but they were often too far, too long, too expensive or at the wrong time of year. These 1-day retreats are designed to reflect my values—honouring the rhythms of nature, celebrating creativity, and nourishing the mind and body through energising and inclusive yoga practice.

Why 'yoga, nature, creative'?
Yoga helps, and has helped me in every part of my life. It is a practice that can assist me in coping with challenges, celebrating positives, help me be grateful for and understand the world around me, whilst keeping me grounded, healthy and in tune with my own body.
The nature part comes from my love of the natural world, trying to celebrate the seasonal changes rather than dread them. I find the most solace and peace in plants, water and gardening! After many years of poor mental health, a terrible diet and extremely unhealthy lifestyle choices, I have worked hard to learn to listen to what my body needs, leading me to prioritising being outdoors and eating whole, homemade foods wherever I can.
Creativity underpins all I do. I am a teacher of photography and media, I love poetry, writing, and making of all kinds, usually with books and print based media. I feel like creative activities go hand in hand with the mindful practice of yoga. Being immersed in creative flow helps calm the mind and bring fulfilment in a world where I feel, everything begs our attention but gives little back.
